Early Wake Up Call

Friday: No limos to pick us up and wisk us uptown to Rockerfeller Center, NO, we had to take the subway. Got up at 6:00 am (dressed with my eyes closed-put on my shirt inside out and didn't notice it till about 10AM) to try to beat the groupies gathering for the Today's Show Summer Concert Series. Even tho Gary saw James Taylor only 2 weeks ago at Gwinnett Arena, we are there to see JT and Carole King up close and personal. We got lucky and got close. "Carolina Was on My Mind", but they opened with: "Up on the Roof". Will be back another day to see Matt, Al, and Meredith again.

Ahh...an interlude: sunny bench seat in Central Park and reading the weekend goings on in The New York Times. They recommend the lower east side Bingo game on Mondays, hosted by a gay guy and his side kick. Will put that on our short list of things to do before we leave.

Back at our apartment...Ring...Ring.. It's Paul again. They want us to show up Monday for David Letterman taping. Yeah, we will make time to be there!!!

Crashed in the afternoon, but revived in time for cocktails and dinner at "Paris Commune". Great atmosphere. From there, we struck out to other parts unknown and found out we are REALLY close to Highline Garden, Meatpacking District, and Chelsea Market. Absolutely will be back to take these things in.
